It took us numerous trips to the hills and over 10 years to find the perfect site - with a Himalayan view, quiet and green all around but at the same time close enough to a village. We finally found this land in Hartola in 2015.

In the meantime, in 2008 we started a B&B in New Delhi - Chhoti Haveli. Running this property for the last so many years has helped us gain an appreciation for what guests want.

While we have travelled the world and all over India we have always enjoyed staying at unique places and we have used those experiences while making Chirping Chidiya. It was important for us to be a pet friendly property, as we had 2 lovely dogs (Christie and Messi) and they both enjoyed their time here when they visited with us. Sadly they are no more, but their memories live on with us.
